To provide sufficient year-round facilities and programs so that visitors can understand the role of steam railroads in the growth of our country, while allowing opportunities for hands-on, active experiences, including riding on a steam era train and showing how a steam era railroad operated. To preserve and/ or restore locomotives and cars in the park collection for purposes of excursion, interpretation, and exhibition.
