The collisions kit is an ideal tool with which to introduce students to the concept of collision in terms of momentum and conservation of energy. Due to the inclusion of a pulley system, external forces can be applied to accelerate a cart. When a photo-gate system is attached to the included support rods, data can be easily and accurately recorded. This kit provides a visually and kinesthetically effective method for studying the physics involved in collisions.
Features
- KIT INCLUDES || Each collision kit contains 47.63in collision track, two collision carts, two sets of 3 slotted masses (50g, 20g, and 10g), two support feet with leveling screws, two photogate support rods, two support rod holders, one pulley, and an instruction booklet.
- EXPERIMENT GUIDE || Each Collision kit includes an instruction manual containing a reproducible student guide and a teacher’s guide for the experiment.
- VARIOUS ACTIVITIES || The Guide outlines three different activities; constant acceleration: inclined plane, constant acceleration: external force, and collisions and momentum.
- HANDS ON LEARNING || The collision-track apparatus offers students a hands-on way to investigate collisions in terms of momentum and conservation of energy. The pulley allows external forces to be used to accelerate a cart. Data can be accurately recorded using a photogate system attached to the support rods.
- RECOMMENDED GRADE LEVEL || Eisco’s Collision kit is recommended for students between grades 9-12. The Collision kit is an excellent hands-on learning tool for teaching physical science to high school students.
