This reader is a selection of 441 texts and exercises for reading Latin, at a beginner and intermediate level. Compared to other readers, it offers some significant peculiarities: firstly, a large number of texts. Second, these texts are always adapted, although especially towards the end they are practically original. Third, the reading of texts (which is the basis of the book) is combined with introductory exercises on each topic, also including translation exercises. The book is arranged by subject and presents the main grammatical questions related to the study of Latin. These topics offer an increasing degree of difficulty, so the method is also progressive. In the selection of texts, it is intended to present culturally significant texts, so that the reader or the student knows some of the most significant aspects of Roman civilization. For this, many texts include at the beginning a brief explanation of contextualization. Likewise, they often include explanatory notes for those questions that are more complicated or that perhaps are not yet known. At the end of the book, an answer key is included with the translations of all the texts and the solutions of all the exercises in the book.
