A Peep At PEP: Grades 4 & 5 Mathematics Performance Tasks (with answer key)

This performance task book is the first in the “A Peep at PEP” series. It consists of Mathematical performance tasks meticulously created to challenge students in grades 4 and 5. In addition, an answer key is included for each performance task to provide comparative reference points for students and parents alike. All performance tasks included are aligned with the National Standards Curriculum (NSC). These performance tasks were influenced by real-world scenarios in the Jamaican context and the structure of past questions and scenarios from the official Primary Exit Profile (PEP) exams. Therefore, students will be able to relate to most, if not all, scenarios in this book, further, debunking the common perception that Mathematics is abstract. Mathematics is applicable in everyday scenarios; from taking a taxi to purchasing items at the school’s tuckshop. Importantly, this book is organized to give students an amplified love for Mathematics and to expose them to the structure of the Mathematics PEP Exam.
