How to Calibrate. Please READ! The manual is a generic manual for all brix refractometers including 0-32%, 0-10%, 0-80% models. The distilled water only works with the refractometer with a 0% scale because the distilled water does not contain any sugar. The refractometer you purchased is a high measurement range 28%-62%. It is already calibrated in the factory. To re-calibrate, you need to use something that actually has a concentration percentage between 28%-62%, then set the scale on the corresponding percentage of the liquid. If you don’t have any or do not know the actual % of the liquid you have. I recommend to purchase something has a percentage marking. Simply put 2 drops of this calibration fluid on your refractometer and use the screwdriver to set it to 60% Brix
