American Educational Flame Test and Spectroscopy Kit

Students use nichrome wire loops on wood handles to conduct flame tests on the following elements: barium, calcium, lithium, potassium, sodium and strontium. In this way metals are introduced into the flame via a wire loop instead of being sprayed into the air. A bunsen burner is needed in addition to the materials included in this kit. Includes teacher’s guide, reproducible student worksheets and enough materials for up to 50 students. Includes MSDS. For Grades 7-12 and Ages 12-18.
