Anne Frank’s Diary Movie Based Unit Study | Learning Journal: A Cross-Curricular Unit Study On The Holocaust For Ages 10+

Anne Frank was a Jewish teenage victim of the Holocaust and was made famous posthumously when her diary collections were published after her death at a Nazi concentration camp. Her frank, idealistic yet mature analyses of her reality hiding from Nazi persecution has endeared her to many children, teenagers and adults around the world. Created for children aged 10 and up, this movie based historical unit study is a excellent introduction to World War II and how the Frank family stood out as heroes during the Holocaust. Movies are an excellent introduction to history which is often depicted in a very dry and dull way through textbooks. This journal acts as a bridge between the movie and factual history, helping to answer the student’s questions often brought up during and after the movie.
