BARDS OF FANTASIA (Supplement): Grammar Maps 3 of 3, TENSE TOWERS

This supplement collects 18 months of field research. Rather than the “8 parts of speech,” the approach is the “8 verb conjugations.” (1) PRONOUN map covers NUMBER, GENDER, PERSON & VOICE. (2) MODIFIER map addresses NON-FINITE “VERBALS,” and (3) TOWERS map unifies TENSE-ASPECT-MOOD. It’s ideal for test preparation, and 25 students are covered for the price of a pizza. Some confusions this TENSE MAP clears-up better than any handbook include: “Middle school verbs show past present and future tense. But intransitive verbs have aspect and mood. What are those? The TENSE TOWERS map is designed for AP college prep and future journalists & editors. 5 adverbs, 10 prepositions, 7 helping verbs and 7 conjunctions provide a sentence example each for at least 25 regular students. Then the 6 Perfect Aspect/Tense and 4 Progressive sentences cover honors students. Each student can be assigned one flashcard-type-section to fill-in with any incident from the BARDS story they want. They can meet one-on-one with their teacher for further examples, then share what they learned with a short presentation. Each color map has a 4-panel, aspect/distance infographic on back.
