Sketching crayons, also referred to as Conte carres, are harder than pastels or charcoals. This hardness creates crisp, tight lines rather than the more smudged look of pastel and charcoal. The renowned square shaped “carre” crayons allow you to use the edge of the crayon to produce energetic lines & details or its flat side to apply larger areas of color. These crayons are very soft to apply and manufactured using natural pigments (iron oxides, carbon black, titanium dioxide), clay (kaolin) and a binder (cellulose ether). This Conte a Paris Sketching crayons set includes two Black HB Crayons.
