Living on top of their parents’ soul food restaurant in downtown Chicago , Bakari and his younger sister Connie didn’t have any neighborhood kids to hang out with or a back yard to play in. Cooped up in the house most of the time, the siblings were often bored and lonely.Because Bakari only liked sports and Connie only liked fairytales, they never agreed on things to do together.
