Features
- After the gourds are harvested, the artisan removes the outer green skin with a dull knife, exposing the lighter brown color underneath. Then the gourds are cleaned and dried in the hot Peruvian sun
- Hand carved and hand painted with seeds that rattle inside
- Slender gourds are carved and transformed into maraca after they are hollowed out and filled with metallic rattling pieces
- Sizes vary, but each Maraca is about 7″-10″ long
