Acclaimed as a robust player with a resonant sound producing consistent liquid sound and interesting development of ideas, he was an accomplished virtuoso of Sarod, his favored instrument, although he performed on flute and guitar as well. His concerts and records have featured traditional Ragas as well as contemporary Jazz. Ustad Alla Rakha needs no introduction to music lovers all over the world. H e has performed extensively traveled all over the world accompanying great Artists like Ravi Shankar, Ali Akbar Khan, to mention a few.
