The Chosen Land: Our Journey of Faith

Have you ever had a dream that would not let you give up, even when it felt like your journey was becoming a horrible nightmare instead of bringing you to the promised land? My family’s adventure to fulfill our dreams began in 2015 when my husband and I left Queens, New York, to search for a rural area to raise our four children. We found 38 acres of vacant wooded land in a small hamlet in Orange County and began the long and difficult process of building our dream eco-friendly house out of shipping containers. We faced so many struggles along the way–from the town’s excessive regulations to the neighborhood’s constant harassment–but we remained strong and continue to overcome every hardship together, even to this day. Our journey has been so painful, but we are resilient and have never given up on the vision to achieve our dreams. God is good, for He has blessed us with this land and continues to help us face every challenging life lesson with courage and perseverance. Now, we see that He has given us our story to encourage others to stay strong in the middle of their own troubles! All of the struggles that we went through only served to strengthen us as a family and bring my husband and me closer together as a couple. God truly gave us this adventure so that each of us would develop individually in a way that we never would have experienced, had we walked an easy path toward our chosen land.
