Product Description The flute of John Calloway helped spark a Caribbean musical renaissance in the 70s as part of the neo-traditionalist Tipica Cienfuegos. Bitten by the charanga bug, Calloway left the Bay Area for New York to learn more. Back in San Francisco, he is now co-director of the Machete Ensemble as well as producing and directing major projects in the Bay Area and beyond. Calloway offers 10 compositions that illustrate his affection for Jazz and Afro-Latin themes as well as his creativity as both an arranger and composer. Review I have known John for a very, very, long time. After listening to the birth of this CD, I suggest you put your seat belts on and get ready for the ride of your life. I am proud that in his playing John maintains the integrity of tone, phrasing, and melody heard throughout. He truly has done his homework. And I have to say – as I listened again – I heard a reflection of myself in Montuno Pa La Flauta. Thank you John, God bless and congratulations! ” Dave Valentin, New York, 2007 2003 Grammy Winner – The Gathering –Liner Notes

This book supports learning about leadership, management, and collaborative principles relevant to business or social studies education.

The role of the leader is very isolating, and few are born to withstand it. Leaders often engage in multi-layered agendas that may include celebrations, decision-making, managing human capital, implementing policies and procedures, distributing resources, and the dreaded disciplining of staffers. When leaders assume leadership responsibility and bear the weight of the role in isolation, they stop leading and become managers. The Code is designed to be a game-changing resource for leaders that can help them build and create collaborative infrastructure for success. This resource is intended for leaders who desire to lead with intentionality and in partnership with others. The most fundamental error that a leader can make is to stop learning. When leaders stop being willing to learn, they cease to lead from a place of transformation. Embracing the mindset of a life-learner is, therefore, a critical component of leadership in an ever-changing world.
