The purpose of this study is to work through the Bible in just over one year so that you can have a bird’s eye view of the message of the whole Bible, as a context for interpreting its various parts.The method of this study is to cover each book of the Bible in a microscopic exposition of one text in each book, which text develops or illustrates its theme. Each lesson, along with the exposition of a specific text, will also include: 1). A brief introduction to the book: its theme, outline and main characters. 2). A brief explanation of the historical context of the book and its relation to the books that precede it. 3). A practical application of the expounded text to the daily lives of our people.An important leader in the modern reformation, Pastor Joe Morecraft, III is a preacher of the gospel and a noted speaker on a variety of theological, historical, and social issues. He has also addressed civic, medical, military, political, religious, and educational groups around the world. Pastor Morecraft was a candidate for the U.S. Congress in the 7th Congressional District of Georgia in 1986 and served as a Presbyterian pastor since 1974. He is currently the pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church in Cumming, GA. Pastor Morecraft’s works include “How God Wants Us to Worship Him” and his magnum opus: “Authentic Christianity: An Exposition of the Theology and Ethics of the Westminster Larger Catechism.” (westminstercommentary.com) He holds a B.A. in history from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, a M.Div from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, and a M.Th. and Th.D. from Whitefield Theological Seminary.
