The Laws of Community

A “Move of God” has to be protected by a foundation in the local church, and the local church is to be protected by the laws of community. Michael Knight has studied exceptional churches for over thirty-three years. Sadly, what one finds is a littered history of good people who just couldn’t get along for any quality length of time. Many great achievements for God sputter out because of the same stronghold. Unfortunately, over and over again one finds a deadly relational virus. Great things can’t happen unless people are involved. Great things will not continue unless a profound sense of community protects it. Even Christ told the early church to spend time together in deep community before they could expect an outpouring of His Spirit. Acts 2:42 clearly shows that community was the glue that held a great church together.
