Ute Legends

Ute elders say that Great Spirit created the Four-Leggeds (animals) first so that they could show Two-Leggeds (humans) how to “walk” on this earth. In UTE LEGENDS Celinda Kaelin has delved deeply into the ancient animal stories of the Ute Nation to find all they can teach us. Native oral tradition is too often dismissed as irrelevant, even though at least one story passed down through the oral tradition can be traced back over 1500 years.
