The right temperature can be one of the key factors that determine your soldering experience: To ensure the soldering iron performs as expected and a smoother soldering experience, the optimal temperature should satisfy the following requirements : 1. To make a better solder connection, the set temperature for a soldering iron/station should be approximately 90degF above its melting point. 2. The set temperature for a soldering iron/station should be an additional approximately 180degF higher to provide a heat reserve for the quick thermal recovery of the tip after the solder connection is made. E.G., Lead-Free Solder(Sn-Ag-Cu) – 428degF 428degF+90degF+180degF=698degF In this case, we would recommend you set the temperature at 698degF. The recommendations for referencing purposes only. To get the best result, we strongly suggest that you follow the recommended temperature of the specific composition that you’re working with.
