An American Vision: Henry Francis Du Pont’s Winterthur Museum

This catalogue is published to coincide with an exhibition in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Henry Francis du Pont Winterthur Museum, at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. The five sections cover: early America, high style rococo, East meets West, Pennsylvania German and classical style. Approximately 300 examples of decorative arts made or used in America between 1640 and 1840 – including furniture, textiles, paintings, ceramics, glass and metalwork – form the collection at the museum.
