Argot Magazine is a DC non-profit publication run by queers for queers. We are contributor based, publishing work from more than 100 LGBTQIA+ writers and artists. Our mission is to provide a space where anyone feels welcome, heard and can share their story.

Our second print edition is focussed on the experience of of Pride and Found Family with fourteen writers and artists from around the world sharing their perspectives and personal lens and how pride has welcomed or spurned them. How those with different identities have felt welcomed or spurned by the wider community, how some prides are still protests, how we find our family with each other when we have nothing else.

We primarily publish work from writers and artists who live at the intersections of marginalized identities. We intend to provide an avenue for up and coming writers and artists to be published and have a voice, especially given the cacophony of the current political climate.

Much of these demographics struggle with institutional income inequality. Because of this, giving our writers and artists a platform and community is only part of our mission; an equally important part is providing paid work for talented people who often have not been able to be published elsewhere.
