Expert Level (correlates with Book 2, p. 15) This spirited new overture from John Higgins presents a wealth of musicality at an easy level. Written in traditional A-B-A overture format, the powerful opening theme is played first by the trumpets then later developed by the full band. A lyrical slow section featuring the woodwinds contrasts nicely before returning to the exciting fast section.
