This commentary includes all Latin selections on the College Board’s 2025-26 AP (Advanced Placement) syllabus for Pliny’s Letters and Vergil’s Aeneid in 70 lessons. Each lesson is two facing pages in length. Each even page includes 10-15 lines of Latin text with all corresponding vocabulary and grammar notes below the Latin on the same page. The corresponding vocabulary contains all words occurring 3 or fewer times, arranged alphabetically in two columns. The grammatical notes are organized according to line numbers and likewise arranged in two columns. On the facing odd page there are high frequency word lists (occurring 4 or more times) and information boxes, which contain literary, historical, grammatical, and word-building explanations. A running vocabulary list of words occurring 4 or more times is included in the introduction, and an alphabetized list of the same words is included in the glossary. Once readers have memorized the core vocabulary list, they will be able to read the Latin and consult all relevant vocabulary and commentary without turning a page.
