A standard in the Romantic horn literature. This is the AUTHENTIC edition of the work, updated with extensive graphics cleanup, added rehearsal letters and other corrections. Please note that other available versions may be heavily edited — contrary to what the composer, a virtuoso horn player himself, originally published. The horn part is in F, plus a piano score. Produced and printed in U.S.A. Franz Strauss is perhaps best known as the father of the composer Richard Strauss, on whose early musical development he was a great influence. A recommended performance of this work by Barry Tuckwell is available on YouTube.
