The Delta Education 110-5125 Terrarium Explorations Kit is a terrarium kit for grades K-5 to observe the interaction and interdependence of biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) elements and includes two clear plastic terraria with supplies and a teacher’s guide. The plastic terraria measure 3 x 7-5/8 x 3-11/16 inches (H x W x D) and are used to grow plants. (H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) The kit also includes two 1lb. bags of soil, one 1/8lb. package of rye grass seeds, one packet of clover seeds, four dual-scale plastic thermometers, one package of green aquarium gravel, two 1/2-cup plastic souffle cups, one 8oz. package of activated charcoal, and one plastic spoon. A teacher’s guide provides background information and ideas for further exploration.
