Dr. Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, Triglotta Edition: In English, German, & Latin

This edition of Dr. Martin Luther’s Small Catechism in English, German, & Latin contains: The English Text, translated by Heinrich Schwan for the 1905 Small Catechism. This edition was later used as the basis of the 1943 “Blue Book” catechism. The German Text from the 1580 Book of Concord, as contained in the 1921 Triglotta. The Latin Text from the 1584 Book of Concord, as contained in the 1921 Triglotta. The entirety of “How the unlearned should be taught to confess”, which was omitted from the 1943 edition. The entirety of The Preface, also omitted from the 1943 edition. In keeping with the 1580/84 editions of the Book of Concord, “The Office of the Keys” and “Christian Questions with their Answers” are not included. This is the first English Edition of Luther’s Small Catechism to include the Latin and German of Luther’s Classic Text in a compact format. It is perfect for Classical Lutheran Schools and Lutheran Home Schools. Other Lutheran Schools will also find it of value. Lutheran High Schools can use it as a way to introduce either German or Latin to their students. The best extra-scriptural resource in the history of the church is now available in the original languages with an English translation.
