Adventurous farmers settled between the Passaic and Whippany Rivers more than three hundred years ago. They led hard but simple agrarian lives, interrupted only by the American Revolution. Life continued in this manner until the twentieth century, when residents voted to incorporate East Hanover into an independent political unit. After that vote in 1928, East Hanover slowly transformed from a farming community to a bustling suburb. East Hanover explores the history of this town, using many rare photographs and documents.
