This book is written as a documented account of the Hungarian Slovak Gypsies in America, not as a novel. Their history was spread out in different publications throughout the world. This book puts it all together and explains their history. My book has won the 2013 USA Best Book Award as a “Finalist” in the “History: United States category and is now up for an International Award. The book is a documented history of Hungarian-Slovak Gypsies that came to America over 120 years ago, they brought to America the traditional Hungarian Gypsy music they and their ancestors played in Europe for hundreds of years. They are directly linked to Europe’s finest Gypsy musicians. This book was written to preserve this great Hungarian Gypsy heritage. Throughout time Roma were discriminated against, persecuted and murdered for being Gypsy. Today the decendents of these Roma don’t want to be Gypsy anymore and they are now on the verge of losing their heritage and music because of all the racism they face everyday.
