- Installation in 7 steps: 1. Clean the surface. 2. Position the Hopscotch Course. 3. Outline the pieces with chalk. 4. Heat the surface with a propane torch to about 300 degrees F. 5. Paint or roll a thin layer of contact cement on the warm asphalt or concrete. 6. Peel the backing and apply in place. 7. Heat the pieces and roll/tamp into place while hot. *May be installed at 72 degrees and the primer step may not be needed if you use a test piece to see how well the material sticks to the surface. The pavement tape is the same, but every surface may be different. Test first.
