This is a band that is simply is too angry, too hungry to spend time in front of the mirror fixing haircuts and clothes to make the group look like something out of the sixties. Megalighter is more real. Megalighter live shows are brutal, sweaty and “in-your-face”. The music is hard hitting without falling into the metal trap, instead being melodic and brave power-trio rock with a hard edge. “Motorhead with the brain of The Who” is how they described it a couple of years ago. Ok – Megalighter is not jumping on any trend. There’s none of that “searching ebay for the right vintage guitar”- thing. Megalighter is not, and will never be, nu-wave, retro or indie. They haven’t bothered with making a back-drop for their show. Instead, they’ve spent their time rehearsing and rehearsing some more. And now they’re ready. Many hours and fights in the studio cost them a lot of money, but the result is the most fun and enjoyable record to come out of the painfully normal, crappy small town like Sandefjord, Norway, is. Today Sandefjord – tomorrow the world. Are you ready?
