This book is an adaptation of nine short Persian stories from Masnavi-ye-Ma’navi. Masnavi, authored by Jalal al-Din Muhammad Balkhi in the 13th century, famously known as Rumi, stands as a significant poetic work in Persian language. Masnavi has over hundred stories. In this book, I’ve selected some of them and made some changes in the details of the stories to make them suitable for today’s children. Stories with philosophical themes have been an integral part of human culture and literature for centuries. These narratives teach us about the journey of self-discovery and inner growth by discovering our own unique qualities and strengths. They explain moral lessons and virtues such as honesty, integrity, freedom, generosity, and forgiveness. The stories can encourage us to reflect on deeper existential questions and develop a sense of wonder towards the mysteries of life. These stories have an uncanny ability to evolve with us. As we journey through life, some tales we encounter during our youth often take on new meanings and depths as we grow older. These stories have this quality and evolve with us as we grow older. As a result, they can also stimulate critical thinking and inspire dialogue and discussion between kids and their parents.
