Unrevised original 1925 Material – this is the same Moeller book as the 1st edition! 83 more pages than the 1929 revision and the restored pages are indicated for easy reference 78 unique pages from any other subsequent printing, including the “other” currently available edition Annotations and Introduction by Ryan Alexander Bloom for history, context, and fact checking Sanford Moeller is a historically renowned drum teacher and his Moeller Book, originally titled Instructor in the Art of Snare Drumming, is the source of the eponymous Moeller Stroke or Moeller Technique, a method that has been popular with classical musicians, drum set artists, and rudimental drummers for nearly a century. Moeller’s personal students included William Ludwig, Gene Krupa, and Jim Chapin, all of whom became world class musicians and teachers in their own rights. All three of these giants published their own books and had hundreds or thousands of their own students, all of which were taught the Moeller method in some form and it is one of the most influential drum methods on the planet. Here is the Moeller Book you were meant to see, not the cut down and revised editions that came after 1929. This reproduction of the first edition contains more rudiments, more quicksteps, more Camp Duty beatings, more fife content, more bugle content, more text insights from Moeller, and more band and orchestra excerpts than the others. You get a whole lot more Moeller in this Unrevised and Annotated edition than in anything printed in the past 9 decades. The only other way to get any of this extra content is to find an expensive antique copy from the 1920s (which you will then feel bad about damaging or writing in). No drummer should be without a copy of the Moeller Book and there is no more complete edition of his master work in print than this one.
