The Labomed Spectro UV-2650 four-cell UV and visible-light scanning spectrophotometer has a multi-cell receptacle to measure transmission, absorption, concentration, and factor for routine quantitative analysis in a range of qualitative and quantitative analysis applications and industries, including in DNA/RNA testing, medical, chemical, biochemical, agricultural, petrochemical, or quality-control applications. The instrument has a fixed 2nm spectral bandwidth and a 190 to 1,100nm wavelength range for use in the ultraviolet and visible-light spectral range. The automatic wavelength setting speeds processing and reduces operator error. The 2nm bandwidth provides lower detection limits and improved signal-to-noise performance. It has a 0.0 to 100.0%T transmittance range. The tungsten (W) and deuterium (D2) lamps automatically change with the wavelength, and the silicon photodiode detector reduces noise. The spectrophotometer has a manual four-cell holder that accepts long-pathlength cells up to 100mm.The 6″ LCD has a 320 x 240 pixel screen and provides access to controls and test results, and the capacitive-touch buttons ease cleaning and prevent liquids from entering the device. The instrument automatically calculates absorption, transmittance, factor, and concentration, and auto-zero and auto-calibration ensure consistent results. Basic measurement modes include wavelength scanning (A, T, and E); photometric measurements (fixed wavelength measurement, A, and T), quantitation (concentration measurement, A, and C); time scanning (kinetic measurements, A, and T); and real-time measurements (A, T, C, and E). RS-232C and USB interfaces enable data to be transferred to a computer (sold separately). The Spectro software package allows data to be collected, stored, and analyzed, and enables the instrument to be run directly from the computer. Operations performed by the software include photometry, spectrum, and quantitation measurements. Functions include saving and loading data, Peak-Valley selection, calculating derivatives, printing data as needed or at set intervals, activity calculation, cursor locating, zooming, and A-T conversion. Multi-wavelength photometric measurements can be taken at up to ten wavelengths using user-defined parameters. Up to 10 spectra and time-course curves can be measured and recalled in memory, and up to 24 standards can be entered and measured for the fit of calibration curve. The software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. A spectrophotometer is a device used to measure and analyze aspects of light absorption in liquids and solids. Readings are displayed in digital or analog format. A spectrophotometer can have a handheld body for field use, or a bench-top body for laboratory applications. It may have one or more adapters to enable it to measure surfaces or liquids. A spectrophotometer is used for testing and measuring in anatomy, chemistry, agriculture, process plant, food and beverage making, homeland security, and educational applications. Labomed manufactures spectrophotometers, microscopes, diagnostic instruments, and accessories for scientific and medical laboratories. The company, founded in 1980, is headquartered in Culver City, CA and meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards 9001:2013. What's in the Box?
