The lectures in this book also deal with the psychological and social pressures faced by preachers. These were informal talks Spurgeon gave to his students on Fridays. He is relaxed and humorous as he speaks to them with the voice of experience. The Preachers’ College was founded to provide instruction on evangelizing and preaching for students of all backgrounds, no matter what their previous level of education.
