U.S. Teens Lack 76% Of Basic Financial Literacy Skills Financial literacy is a topic of concern in many communities, and the lack of financial education among teenagers is an overlooked problem. A wealthy tycoon shaped the structure of education in the early 1900s with the driving intention of controlling it for his own benefit. Unfortunately, his teaching remains in our schools and has not changed. Public schools were not designed to prepare us for the financial world; most prepare our children to graduate, figure it out, and go to work or college. Knowledge is power, and the lack of availability for our children to learn financial literacy renders them handicapped in the world of finances. My hope is to educate and make known the possibilities of prosperity for our youth and the first steps necessary to begin this journey.
