Mourt’s Relation: A Journal of the Pilgrims at Plymouth: Mayflower Quadricentennial Edition

In honor of the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower’s landing at Plymouth in 1620, a new edition of “Mourt’s Relation” — a first person account of the Pilgrim’s first year in the New World. Originally published in England in 1622, in recounts the early adventures and hardships of the Pilgrims — the story of the first horrible winter that killed so many, their first meetings with Native Americans like Squanto, Samoset, and Massasoit, and finally the first Thanksgiving. This work is fascinating as a historical artifact, but it is also a compelling read in its own right. This Mayflower Quadricentennial Edition is derived from excerpts compiled within “The Pilgrim Fathers,” edited and annotated by George Cheever (1807-1890), published in 1849.
