This is six feet of beautiful, durable 18% nickel-silver fret wire, in handy straight 8-inch lengths. This fret wire is very identical to Stewart-MacDonald’s #147 “Narrow/Medium” fret wire, and can be used to repair/replace frets on an existing banjo, dulcimer or other smaller instrument, as well as for new instrument building. The dimensions are as follows: Crown Width: .080 in. (2.03mm), Crown Height: .040 in. (1.02mm), Tang Depth: .062 in. (1.57mm). A slot width of .023 in. is recommended for best results when installing this fret wire. Also included with every set is a 2-page “Fretting Tips and Tricks” how-to guide, to give the beginning fretter a starting point for what to do.
