Each player is a late 18th century fur trapper in the Hudson’s Bay region of Northern Ontario exploiting the lynx-hare predator-prey cycle. You start indebted to the Hudson’s Bay Company which has supplied you with traps in agreement that all pelts be sold exclusively to them. In order to succeed, you need to time not just market demand, but also the balance of the lynx and hare population. Trap too much hare and the lynx population declines – which then helps the hare population rebound. Will you remain indebted to the company beomce a free trapper?
