Every summer in Sioux City, IA, a group of rural high school students came together for the TRIO Upward Bound Program. In 2011, the Siouxland area was threatened by the worst flood the area had experienced in Fifty years. When the students wrote these poems, the flood was eminent, and they had spent an afternoon sandbagging for a neighboring community. This book expresses their thoughts on being submerged by the flood and their own concerns.
