The Adventures of Henry Woods; Life in Early Texas: MYSTERY AT THE OLD STONE FORT

In the late summer of 1835, drama and tensions rose across Texas. Settlers were unhappy with the restrictions by the Mexican government. One of the most trusted leaders in Texas, Stephen F. Austin, had been held in a Mexican jail for almost two years, and now there were rumors that he might be returning to Texas soon. What would he tell the Texans? Was a revolution just around the corner? Were there spies in Texas reporting back to the government? Henry Woods and his family traveled to Nacogdoches that August to attend a big trade fair.
