This book is inspired by my experiences as an elementary school teacher, as well as my own interactions with my child and my own childhood. Throughout my career, I’ve witnessed the struggles children face, both at home and with their peers. I wanted to create a story that could encourage children to embrace their inner light, spread kindness, and face life’s challenges with strength and positivity–just like the sunflower. As a Christian, I believe in the power of love and kindness. I’ve spent my life helping others, whether it’s through restoring playgrounds, volunteering at church, or going on mission trips. This book reflects my passion for making a difference in the lives of children, guiding them to realize their worth and encouraging them to share that light with others.
